Bilic-Haween Beauty Salon

Bilic-Haween Beauty Salon “Bilic-Haween” is a woman-owned company that provides local, quality spa services and natural beauty products in Hargeisa, Somaliland.  In addition to the spa services offered by the company, including Henna applications, manicures and pedicures, and massages, Bilic-Haween also produces and sells its own Zakia herbal hair oil product.  While there has been consistent demand for the company’s products, its oil packaging and delivery process was inefficient and costly. Bilic-Haween sought resources to improve its processing and distribution systems with the help of Shuraako.

After participating in the Shuraako-facilitated Work in Progress! business development training program and the 2017 Somaliland Investment Forum tradeshow, Bilic-Haween secured the financing it needed to improve its operations.  The investment allowed the company to procure hair oil packaging machinery and a delivery truck.  These improvements will enable Bilic- Haween to increase their production by 86% (from 1,339 to 2,484 units) by 2020.
