Goljano Mixed Farm and Agribusiness

Goljano Mixed Farm and Agribusiness (“Goljano”) is an organic farm that began operations in 2010 in Burao, Somaliland. The owner sought to create a mixed farm that produces value-added and diversified local products. The farm has a diversified range of activities that include sesame farming and oil production, poultry farming, beekeeping, camel dairy production, and livestock fattening. Goljano sought financing to launch new products and competitively price their existing products for the international market.

After receiving an investment with assistance from Shuraako, Goljano was able to procure equipment that diversified its product offerings and increased production. The farm has expanded its projects to include guava and papaya juice production, sesame oil production, and a sheep and goat-fattening operation. Goljano is now able to provide more goods to the local economy and competitively price its goods for the international market. The investment helped create 55 new jobs.
