Tawfiiq Sanitation Services

Established in 2017, Tawfiiq Sanitation Services (“Tawfiiq”) is a registered and licensed waste collection and disposal company that was granted a public-private partnership agreement with the local municipality to collect waste materials and provide sanitation services to two Hargeisa districts. Tawfiiq generates income through contract work with homeowners' associations and housing communities; providing waste collection services to companies and individuals; and hauling large items such as furniture. With growing demand for Tawfiiq’s services, the company became constrained by its number of vehicles. Through a Shuraako-facilitated investment from the Nordic Horn of Africa Opportunities Fund, Tawfiiq was able to purchase specialized vehicles/fleets for waste disposal collection, in order to meet the growing demand in the area.
