United Basic Industries (Durdur)

Established in 2007, United Basic Industries (“Durdur”) is known as one of the leading water suppliers in Somaliland. The company is dedicated to building long-term relationships with its community and customers by providing high quality products, client support, and a consistent supply of clean water. In addition to its water bottling business the company also offers home cleaning products such as bottled washing and cleaning liquids and shampoos. The company is also dedicated to contributing back to the community by providing jobs, giving charity (zakat) donations, and supporting the community by supplying water during droughts. In addition the company provides books and tuition for local children’s education and supports local families with hospital and emergency needs.

In 2019, Durdur sought to expand its production capacity to meet market demand. Through a Shuraako-brokered investment, the company was able to purchase water purification and filling machinery, a water tank truck, and two delivery trucks. The investment also supported the company to construct a compound wall with three warehouses, an office, and a car shelter.
