Wadani Fishing Company

Wadani is a small-scale fishing company founded in 1992 in Somaliland. Wadani has its own retail store in Berbera, and sells its catch to various retailers around the Berbera region. Wadani was formed as a small-scale fishing operation with three boats in its fleet. The business’ expansion has been limited due to repairs that needed to be done to the boats.

The secured capital was used to triple its fishing fleet and increased employment by 50%. By growing its fleet and number of staff, Wadani has increased its production capacity and revenues.
