Asha Ahmed is Shuraako’s Office Coordinator in the Somaliland office. She is a detail-oriented professional with over 15 years of both local and international experience working in financial administrative systems, policies, procedures, project budgeting & reporting, and project management. She received diplomas in office administration, business management, financial management and social work and community development, as well as a number of certifications including Project Cycle Management, Business Startup, Project Management and Report Writing.
Prior to Shuraako, Asha served as an Enterprise Development Officer and Business Fund Analyst for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and World Banks’ Somaliland Business Fund in which she provided support and coaching to both startup and existing small and medium sized businesses. She is actively involved in Somaliland’s community development and volunteers some of her time and talent to support two main non-profit organizations (HAVOYOCO and NAFIS NETWORK) in Somaliland as a board member. Before moving to Somaliland, Asha lived in Kenya and the United Arab Emirates. She is fluent in four languages; Somali, English, Arabic and Swahili. Asha is mother of six children and loves to spend her spare time with her children.
