OEF's New Strategy Advances Efforts toward Achieving Sustainable Peace

November 1–One Earth Future Foundation (OEF) today launched a new strategic plan that will further advance its efforts to achieve sustainable peace. Over the next five years, OEF will migrate from a self-funded program incubator to a competency-based partner of choice for other actors who are working to end armed conflict and build stable communities.

“We envision a world where people choose peaceful solutions over armed conflict,” said OEF Executive Director Jon Bellish. “OEF’s strategy is to build on our proven expertise to address the underlying drivers of conflict and instability in fragile areas around the world. And we’re doing it by collaborating with funders and partners on projects that align with our mission.”

For the last 13 years, OEF has worked with world leaders, development agencies, local governments, and communities to create enduring results toward achieving sustainable peace. This new strategy strengthens those relationships and focuses those efforts by using best-in-class competencies to map out a tailored approach to achieving peaceful solutions.

OEF tailors its programs to each specific social, political, and geographic context, whether that means creating economic opportunities for migrants, combating the risk of nuclear conflict, or building sustainability in fishing communities. “Every conflict is unique,” said Bellish. “There is no one-size-fits-all approach.” OEF’s five-year strategy will strengthen and build upon that principle.
