The Alternative Rural School of Cali is established. A bet for the reincorporation in an urban key and under the business association for services.
The first Alternative Rural School with an urban base was created in Cali to generate job and training opportunities for the reincorporated who settled in the city, as an alternative to the orientation of reincorporation with a rural focus. SERVIAMPAZ , an association of people in the process of reincorporation grouped in the city of Cali, participates in it. To implement the ERA, PASO Colombia designed a proposal for "Urban Peace" to which allies such as the Cali Chamber of Commerce , SENA , the Agency for Reincorporation and Normalization (ARN) and the UN Verification Mission joined. in Columbia .
SERVIAMPAZ is organized as part of a network of enterprises, in which productive projects are connected in the Colombian Pacific zone, from Buenaventura to Guapi, and in the rural area of Valle del Cauca. These connections allow the economic outlet of agricultural products in the city, by establishing value chains for marketing. Currently the cooperative has 26 members, who with their participation benefit more than 150 people around the initiatives developed.
In the midst of the social emergency generated by COVID-19, a shortage of masks for the population was identified, in addition to other cleaning implements for contagion prevention measures. As support for this contingency, PASO Colombia donated to SERVIAMPAZ the supplies for the production of 12,000 masks. These will be manufactured by 4 families linked to the cooperative, and their commercialization will go hand in hand with other protection tools, such as masks and antibacterial gel.
It is important to highlight that Cali is the second city with the most positive cases of COVID-19 in Colombia. In it, the most vulnerable sectors of the population (with a high demographic concentration and few economic resources) will have stronger isolation measures by the municipal government. Therefore, it is essential to contribute with bioprotection elements that are currently out of stock in the market or whose prices have increased significantly.
